BEFORE:

This front yard was the result of two very large dogs. They would run back and forth along the fence line and had worn away the soil to 200mm below the footing of the fence posts. The customer wanted a hard surface along the fence line and hardy plants that would stand up to the drought and the paws of curious dogs.

AFTER:

The area along the fence line was retained using hardwood sleepers. This created a level area for the paving areas each side of the main gate.

The stairs lead from the main gate from six pavers wide to four pavers wide. This creates a lead down into the main path.

The path and steps lead down each side of the yard. A terrace garden bed was created along the fence line to soften the appearance of the yard. The site is very exposed to the full sun so hardy native Australian plants were used, Banksia, Grevillea, Kangaroo paws, Liriope, and bush rocks were added to complement the plants. The customer is planning to cover the remaining area with turf later in the year.
